Big Kid Room

Tuesday Froggie made the move from the "baby room" to the 1 year old room at school. This meant a more structured schedule, no morning nap, planned academic/craft time, etc. that was a little more free flowing in the infant room, it also meant that she got a new teacher - me. She was a champ about giving up her nap and only got fussy when she got bored (right before we went to the play room) and when she was too tired at lunch. She was able to sit and pay attention and play with the "big kids" and she was able to do it all without climbing all over me.
This is a big deal since Big Brother has a hard time being in the same room with me and not being all over me. Speaking of Big Brother, he was SO excited to see that Froggie was in "The Blue Room", the snack room and the playroom. He's such a good brother but sometimes he takes it a little overboard. Here are some pictures from her first day in the 1 year old room.

Sweet Dreams Froggie

There is something sweet and peaceful about sleeping babies. Froggie is tiny compared to her peers so I get to look at tiny fingers

And toes a little longer than some.

Not to mention all those soft sleepy features...

When you put it all together it looks a little like this:

Sweet Dreams

Froggie has had the same routine for awhile now. She waits (sometimes more patiently than others) until Big Brother goes to bed and then nurses until she passes out. She always looks so peaceful and a lot of the time I let her sleep on my lap for awhile.

Shopping Fun

After nap I decided to pack the kids up and head out to the store since I wanted to get out of the house and was looking for yarn for a project I'm thinking about. Big Brother had still been awake when I drove through Starbucks to pick up some coffee and a sandwich and asked for "ice cream in a cup with a straw" (a frappucino). I had told him maybe later and only if he took his nap since he's to the point of occasionally refusing them.
Well he slept well and since I'd been thinking about going to the craft store I figured we would make a pit stop at Target and pick up his vanilla bean frappucino. Froggie had fallen asleep on the way there so this is how we shopped! I had forgotten my Ergo otherwise there wouldn't have been any dilemma as to where Froggie would go. The set up worked surprisingly well, the kids each got a little toy, valentines, and the clearance deals on lunch boxes and accessories were so good I got myself a new lunchbox.

Cold Weather Cutie

Well it has warmed up quite a bit from yesterday morning. Today it was 3° on my way to work rather than -13° ( -5° and -43° respectively with wind chill factored in). While the kids stayed home yesterday since it was simply too cold for Hubby and I to be comfortable letting them out of the house (there was frost forming on the inside of the door!) they got bundled up to come to work with me today since Hubby was returning to work from his day of working from home. This is how Froggie slept last night (I think it's important to note that Froggie hates having her feet covered and wearing footed jammies to sleep but it was so cold last night that she didn't even try to pull at them).

Big Brother is pretty resistant to bundling up unless he's going to play outside he was easily convinced to put on an extra sweat shirt. Froggie didn't have much of a choice but to wear what we put her in, I thought her outfit today was particularly cute and made her look like such a big girl. It's really hard for me to believe that in less than a month she'll be a one-year-old!

Multitasking

The other night Froggie just wouldn't stay asleep and couldn't seem to get comfy (teeth?). After a few attempts at getting her to sleep and wanting to work on the blanket I was crocheting for her I decided to combined the two. I wrapped Froggie up in my partially completed blanket and worked away!

A Good Day for a Nap

We had a heat wave come in over night and woke up to rain and melting snow. The sky is gray and its just a gross day. Froggie decided it would be a good day to lay on the floor since she was tired. At some point this morning my boss sent me this picture.

Mini Vacation: Day #2

We decided to take it easy this morning. This, however, did not mean sleeping in… Hubby was up and out the door at about 7 for a golf tournament with his classmates. Froggie missed the memo that she needed to sleep longer and due to the time change her sleep schedule was messed up. Big Brother was also up early after falling out of his pull out bed once in the middle of the night. He slept in Grandma's room though and did a good job. Once Big Brother and Froggie fell asleep Zippy migrated from my mom's room to ours and hung out on our curtains.
We took our time getting ready while Hubby was golfing and then headed out to one of  the small beaches/picnic areas for a picnic. Froggie decided to take a nap so I started working on the blog and relaxing.

A snoozing Froggie and my work station.

As soon as we got out of the car I went around to get the diaper bag and stood right on an ant hill full of fire ants! Luckily I was only bit a few times and I  didn't even hurt a few hours later. We had gotten their  before Hubby was done golfing though so we played in the water a little. Big Brother had fun playing in the sand, collecting shells, watching pelicans ans loons and we even found a crab (no longer living).
Once Hubby finished golfing we all joined in the picnic. We had some typical picnic fare and Hubby won a gift card. After the picnic we all headed back to our rooms so Hubby could change. Big Brother decided he wanted to take a nap and the matinence guys were working on the AC unit in Hubby`s room so we all headed to my mom's room for "nap time".

He never did nap so we packed back up and headed over to the National Naval Aviation Museum. I'm not sure who was more excited, Big Brother or Hubby! The planes and exhibits were amazing and they even had an indoor play area, which Big Brother loved! Big Brother especially loved that he got to see some of the planes from his new favorite movie "Planes"! This was especially fortunate since there are glimpses at Naval aviation throughout the movie and it all sort of just fell together. Froggie had a good time as well until we tried to take some pictures in the photo booth!

We headed out off of base for dinner and ended up at Ihop. I hadn't been to an Ihop since Hubby and I moved away from Virginia a few years ago but it was delicious as always! Froggie devoured a pancake and Big Brother ate about 1/3 of his chocolatey chip pancake with a face!
