Feeling Froggie?

Froggie was rolling around on the carpet in my classroom and I thought it was a good opportunity to take a picture of her laying on the Frog spot - just for fun.

The Wait is OVER!

The wait is FINALLY over… We made it to Froggie's appointment and headed back to have her X-ray done. She was really upset to even be laid down on the table and was even more upset that I left her with the technician and stood behind the wall while her X-ray was taken. She calmed down pretty quickly and was happy to go back out to the waiting room and play with Big Brother.
Playing in the waiting room.

She weighed in at 18 pounds and we headed back into an exam room to wait for the doctor to read her X-ray and come let us know what that meant for Froggie. A nurse came in and reviewed Froggie's previous treatment with us before the doctor came in. The staff there are always so nice and genuinely interested in interacting with our kids.

Froggie's doctor came in and said her hips were perfect! He said that we wouldn't need to return and that her treatment was officially over. He wanted to see her walk a little before he let us go and Froggie got pretty upset with being asked to preform for the staff but she walked across the exam room and then we headed back to get a copy of her X-ray since I keep them with her medical records.
While Froggie and I were waiting we met another family who was going through treatment for Hip Dysplasia and I spoke with them about the Hip Hop 5K that I'm working to bring to the area. I spoke with the girl's mother for several minutes about the new policies at the hospital where I had Froggie and that I hoped her daughter's treatment was successful. I left my Healthy Hips For Life bracelet with her to show her some support and walked away feeling even more dedicated to the Hip Hop 5K and it's cause.
My wrist felt naked for the rest of the day without my bracelet but we had a fun filled day after work. We went to the mall and I let the kids play in the play area there for awhile. We also went and picked up some chocolate and small stuffed animals as a celebration for our good news.
While we were walking in the mall Froggie dropped her new toy (a small stuffed piglet) and when we turned around to check for it on the floor and with the shop we came from it was gone. After checking with customer service and security Hubby and I decided we were suckers for Froggie and went to buy another Piglet. The woman at the Hallmark store where we bought it was so nice, she gave Froggie the Piglet and thanked my husband for his service (since he had met us at the mall after leaving his office). We tried to pay for it but she refused to let us and after talking with her for a few minutes we found out that she was related to another sailor who Hubby has worked with.

My Little Pony… babies?

Hubby tends to work later than ideal for toddler bed times so when he's stuck in one of his offices and we have the ability to visit or go have dinner with him we do. It just so happens that there is a consignment store a few doors down from one of the offices he utilizes and this is typically the office we meet up with him at since it's closest to restaurants and our house. We're fortunate enough to be able to pick up things every so often and the kids honestly don't care that they used to belong to another little boy or girl.
Anyway, the last time we headed up to meet up for dinner we found a baby My Little Pony. Big Brother's love of the show apparently was infectious because Froggie gets equally excited when we turn it on. It was love at first sight for Froggie and she cuddled her pony and showed it off to hubby when we got back to his office. She even took it to school the following day, which I don't typically let the kids do but she was so stinking cute I couldn't make her leave it in the car. She carted it around the room taking care of it and showing (and sharing) it off to her friends at school.

Welcome Back to the Wild

Today was opening day of our local zoo! It's nice that the zoo is back open because it gives us another thing to add to our list of activities to do and it gets us back outside. It's been really cold again lately (isn't is supposed to be warming up?) and Hubby said that it was going to be too cold to go to opening day. I decided that it was warmer than it has been and we've been coped up too long so we packed extra blankets and dressed warmly and headed out. Hubby met us there when he was done working and my mom came with us as well.
It actually wasn't too bad temperature wise and even though not all of the animals were out I'm glad we went and that the kids got to have some fun.

Happy Big Brother

Hubby and I also had a "date night". We don't go out often but friends of ours from the Navy had invited us to dinner and so we headed out to have dinner with them at a local Mexican restaurant and then after that some of us stopped by Menchies for dessert (it's a frozen yogurt bar!). It was nice to get out and socialize and not have to worry about how the kids were behaving and whether they were bored or not.

Froggie's Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Froggie's 1st birthday this weekend! We had a big party at Hubby's parent's house and had about 40 people join in on the fun! (We had done a big party when Big Brother turned 1 and decided it would be fair to do the same for Froggie.)
The day started off with Tumbling followed by picking up Panera for lunch before we stated to decorate for Froggie's party.

What other kind of party would be fit for a Froggied Princess than a princess party? Here's a look around at some of the decorations.

The reason I haven't posted a blog since Wednesday!

LOVE the way they turned out!

Froggie had a blast opening presents and did really well until she opened the La La Loopsy doll our friends had gotten her, then she wanted nothing but the doll! She was blessed with a ton of gifts from our family and friends and will be one well dressed little girl this spring/summer!

Froggie's gifts, she was very blessed.

Excited to open her presents

Big Brother had his own gifts.

The first gift, she dove right in

She loved it!

Can I get in here?

Big Brother decided to wear her tiara

Then he put it on me!

Then, the best part of any first birthday, it was time for cake! Froggie was really antsy and upset that she had to wait until the singing was over to enjoy her cake but she dug right in once it was on her tray!
It was a VERY busy day and it was a lot of fun! Froggie was bathed before guests started to leave and then once most had departed she fell asleep while my mom held her.

Cake!

Why can't I have this yet?

How should I do this?

All at once!

Check out that face! She didn't want to share!

Happy girl, covered in cake!

Oh the joy of cake!

All partied out!
