Tumbling Round 2

Big Brother started round 2 of tumbling classes on Saturday. We got up a little early and went up to the Y about an hour before tumbling started. Hubby and I left the kids in child watch and went to work out before picking the kids back up to head upstairs. We took Big Brother in to his class and started to get settled when his teacher asked if we would mind doing a parent-free class this week. It was fine by us and so we scooped up Froggie and headed back out into the lobby. We sat and talked with some other parents while we chased Froggie around until the last few minutes of class when we were told we could go back in.
As soon as Froggie and I got into the class room Big Brother started stalling in the set up and saying "Mommy, watch this…" so I had to keep urging him to keep going. Froggie started yelling at him and so I sent her back out into the lobby with Hubby. Big Brother did pretty well and sat to get his stamp for completing class.
Unfortunately, our good start didn't carry though the rest of the day. We were pretty lazy and sat around all afternoon.

Birthday Cow

I'm not sure if all Chick-fil-a's do this but we went to a "birthday party" at Chick-fil-a for all kids who had birthday's in January. We got there a little early so Big Brother and I ran into Target while Hubby and Froggie waited in the car. We picked up some new clothes and shoes for Froggie, the Frozen soundtrack and a transformer before we headed up to the party.
Big Brother was pretty excited for his breakfast, but was most excited to see the cow! He had been talking about the cow for the last few days and was excited for "birthday cow". He ate his breakfast, played in the play area a little, got a birthday present from the cow and we all sang Happy Birthday before we had to leave to make it to tumbling on time.

Froggie also REALLY liked the cow and got her own little gift. She ate a bunch of her breakfast too and had a blast, I think we'll be going back for Froggie's birthday next month.
Big Brother did a great job at tumbling and was a much better listener than his first time. He has such a good time and despite being pushed off a trampoline and the small melt down that followed he did great. I think this will be something we pursue for awhile, maybe not tumbling but group classes where he can be active and interact with different kids than the ones that he spends every day with.

Big Brother's New Adventure

This morning, despite my not feeling well, we ventured out to The Y so that Big Brother could start a tumbling class. Froggie tagged along and was well behaved, she even snuggled with the girls in the babysitting area for a little while.
Big Brother did a great job with all of the activities. For the most part he waited his turn but struggled not to come back through the course! I think he'll have a lot of fun over the next few weeks and hopefully come away with some friendships.

Babysitting Snafu

Hubby and I decided to leave Big Brother at home with my mom while he finished his nap and head to the gym. We took Froggie with us since there are babysitters at the Y but we ran into an issue… We had gotten to the Y at 4:45 and there weren't any babysitters until 5.
Hubby and I opted to take turns side we just planned on running. Hubby stayed with Froggie while I went up to run and was supposed to come up when the babysitter came in. However, the baby sitter never showed up. I ended my run and headed back downstairs to find Hubby and Froggie in the same place I left them. So I took Froggie so Hubby could head upstairs and I waited for the babysitter to show. Unfortunately they never did, until we were finished an putting our coats on at 5:45.
While it was only an inconvenience since Hubby and I went together to the gym, it could have been a huge issue if I'd have tried to go by myself with the kids. I guess we know now that we have to go later in the evening so that we can be sure there is someone to watch the kids!
