Bumps, Bruises and Boys!

Hubby and I are convinced we will be headed to the ER before Big Brother turns 5... I swear he spends more time getting up and brushing himself off than anything (except maybe falling down). He ran halfway home on our walk to and from the ice cream stand and managed to trip and fall into the coffee table 5 minutes before bed!

He LOVES to run!

Our trusty Spiderman ice pack!

After some ice, checking his pupils and some observation time (as well as some extra snuggling and kisses) Big Brother was able to go to bed. He'll probably have a lump for a few days but this is definitely not his first bump and I'm 100% positive it will not be his last.

Froggie has become pretty attached to her froggy wubbanub and she likes to hold its hands while she sucks on the binky, if she's not chewing on its feet! Froggie also sported her hand-me-down UNC shirt today and I had to post it for all to know - well some to know, and they know who they are...

Family Day and post #100

Yesterday was a busy day for our family. Big Brother and I started off the day with doctor appointments and then headed to work/school. We had a busy and fun day there!
Big Brother went poo in the potty at school! This has been a hurdle he hadn't quite passed until today. We had made a deal with him a week or so ago that if he went on the potty at school we could stop at the toy store and pick something out on the way home.
So... after work/school we met hubby at the toy store to pick out a toy. Big Brother lucked out since the things he likes ( read as cars) aren't horribly expensive. So we told him to pick two. He's a smart cookie, he picked a single and double pack and they were buy oneget one 50% off so he was happy and so were we!

After the toy store we headed out to the zoo for a late evening there with a friend of ours who will be moving to North Carolina in just a few days. Every Wednesday in July our local zoo was open until 8 instead of 5 and because we have a zoo membership we got these fun cards for everyone. It worked out nicely because the only thing Froggie really needed a tab for was the carousel which our friend didn't really want to do anyway.

We took LOTS of pictures! Getting Big Brother to participate meant that we needed to ask him to roar like a lion for all of them. This ended up with a lot of pictures with his mouth open!

Brotherly Love

As long as you have read more than just tonight's entry you know that Froggie has a Big Brother. He LOVES her! From the time we found out we were expecting a second child Big Brother has been in love with his baby sister. He also told us he was getting a baby sister before we were able to find out through ultrasound.
He has been a trooper through the las year or so. Going to doctor's appointments with Hubby and I to check on his baby sister and see her on TV (the ultrasound was transmitted to a larger screen to be viewed) and then coming to the hospital and not climbing on me after my C-section. He has gone to most of Froggie's appointments or gotten up early to go to school so that I can take Froggie to an appointment.

He hugs her and kisses her. He always tries to involve her and finds toys for her to play with. This sometimes quickly ends with him yanking away the car he wanted her to look at instead of chew on.

This week we are going to school/work early to cover for staff that are out for a week long camp and today I had a sleeping infant, Froggie, Big Brother and a toddler while we were waiting for the older kids to head down the hall with another staff person. During this time Big Brother was showing Froggie a truck, which I thought was cute and tried to take a picture of (see first picture below). I noticed that it was a little blurry; because, lets face it, an almost 6 month old and a 2 year old don't stay still for long. Shortly after this I asked Big Brother to kiss his sister and got the most amazing picture ever, it doesn't even need words (see second picture below).
